• Linz and Vienna (Austria)

                       A wonderful trip to the Old town and Schlögener Schlinge in Linz. Vienna is also a great city with many things on offer: museums, food, walking trails ....

  • Budapest, Pecs and Lake Balaton (Hungary)

                      Cycling round Lake Balaton, a visit to Europe Cultutal capital of Pecs and walking through         Budapest plus a dip in the famous thermal baths.

  • Warsaw, Krakow, Torun (Poland)

                       A bold Warsaw with its rich musuems, the elegant Krakow and quaint Torun made Poland memorable.

  • Haifa, Nazareth and Jerusalem (Israel)

                       Little like a whirlwind trip but worth it. Walking through the history of 3 religions simultaneoulsy was a never-before experience at Jerusalem. The Bahai centre (a UNESCO World Heritage site) is a wonder in itself with its extensive gardens and buildings.

  • Bratislava, Poprad and the Tatras (Slovakia)

                       The Tatras were amazing. Calm and serene offering so many hiking trails. Pure bliss.

  • Wee hikes in and from Edinburgh (Scotland)          
  • India

                      Still more to explore :) I have been to the farthest south called Kanyakumari and visited many     temple complexes at Madurai, Mamalapuram and Karur all in the state of Tamil Nadu. I also did a small stretch of the Western Ghats until Nilgiris.  A trip to the Union Terrtory of Pondicherry, previously a French colony was also good. I have visited places including Hampi, Sivasamudra's Barachukki and Gaganchukki water falls in the state of Karnataka.  In the north I have been to New Delhi and also Muzaffarpur (Bihar).

                      This is where I spent my first 11 years. I later visited Dubai and whenever I went there, the place looked so different due to its lightning-pace in development..

  • Cambridge, Oxford, Stratford Upon Avon, Luton and London (England)
  • Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam and Delft (Netherlands)
  • Milan, Venice and Murano island, Bologna, Florence, Pisa and Arezzo (Italy)
  • Helsinki, Turku, Tampere and Rovaniemi (Arctic Circle) (Finland)

                   A splendid time in this Scandinavian country. A walk in the capital city, a ferry ride to the UNESCO fortress island of Suomenlinna are must-dos. Cycling via the Turku archipelago is demanding yet worth it. At Rovaniemi, you get to see Santa's residence and Santo too :)   

  • Brussels, Ghent, Bruges and Antwerp (Belgium)

            Romantic canals, narrow streets, chocolates, Mannekin Pis and waffles with all sorts of tasty toppings are some of the things Belgium offers. Antwerp is the harbour city and has a charm of its own.

                  Places where I have hiked/cycled:  Black Forest, Titisee, Loerrach, Garching.

                  Cities: Stuttgart (the Benz museum is wonderful), Munich (BMW museum and visitor centre is great)

                       Alsace region: Colmar, Mulhouse, Strasbourg, La petite Camargue 

  • Tallinn (Estonia)

                    A 2-hour ferry ride across the Gulf of Finland from Helsinki to Tallinn and then a gentle stroll across the old town and the quiet beaches of Tallinn.

  • Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia (Portugal)
  • Switzerland

                   Although not a tourist here anymore, the place still has not stopped fascinating me. There are so many lovely locations, I find it hard to name just a few.

  • Dublin, Derry, Belfast (Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland)
            
               Crossed the Irish sea via ferry from Scotland to reach Ireland. It was one of the most scenic ferry rides offering views of the islands on Irish Sea.
